Welcome to The Looking Glass Play Therapy and Creative Counselling Services. My name is Kelly Sawyer and I am a Certified Play Therapist, Creative Arts Counsellor, Filial Therapist and Trainee Clinical Supervisor. I provide Play Therapy sessions to children of all ages in and around the Oxfordshire Area. Play is the natural language of children and during play therapy children are able to use play to express and resolve problems which they find hard or unable to express with words. Play Therapy is a non-directive and non-judgmental approach which uses a variety of play and creative art methods to assist children and young people who struggle with chronic, mild and moderate psychological and emotional conditions. As a play therapist I develop a therapeutic relationship with the child based on trust and acceptance, whilst working alongside parents, teachers and others involved in the care of the child. As a Creative Arts Counsellor I am able to work with older children and young people combining talking and listening skills together with more structured Creative Work.
